They're both such beautiful, shimmery rose gold shadows.
While Mac's product is a pigment and L'Oréal's is an eyeshadow/pressed pigment, they look exactly the same on the eyes and you can absolutely achieve the same result with both.
They look beautiful all over the lid, and for a more foiled/metallic look, you can wet your brush with the product on it using a setting spray or even eyedrops.
I would definitely say it's not worth it to buy the Tan pigment for the price, when there's a cheaper alternative. Mac's Tan is $21, and L'Oréal's Amber Rush is $7.99 at Ulta. See links to both below:
